Anti-Defamation League

This letter written on 19 May 1939 by the director of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith to its members refers to the collection of newspaper articles. The organization distributed these images to draw attention to the issue of antisemitism. It further calls its members to cooperate and to assist in this task and in the “preservation of democratic ideals” in the United States and in Canada.

This collection of newspaper articles and posters compiled by the Anti-Defamation League B’nai B’rith shows examples of antisemitic propaganda from the United States in the 1930s. It illustrates that antisemitism was an issue not only in Europe but also in the United States.
